Karnataka Opposition Leader Criticises Government Over Delayed Drought Relief Funds
mangaluru: Leader of the Opposition in the Karnataka Legislative Assembly, R Ashoka, has sharply criticized the state government alleging it has failed to disburse drought relief funds to farmers in the state.
Expressing his concerns on social media platform X, Ashoka pointed at Congress MLA NH Konaraddi from Navalgund voicing the issue."Konaraddi has lamented that drought relief has not been delivered to many farmers in his constituency," he said.
Ashoka accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of acting like a dictator when opposition parties criticize the government and advocate for the people's problems. He claimed that Siddaramaiah dismisses the BJP’s criticisms as ignorance and entertainment."The state government is not capable of providing drought relief to farmers.
Despite the central government, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, allocating ₹2,454 crore for drought relief, the state administration has failed to distribute these funds effectively," he added.“If the government cannot respond to the problems of the farmers, what difference does it make if it exists or goes? If you are not able to ensure that the drought relief reaches the farmers on time, resign and go home. Don't play with the lives of farmers,” Ashoka asserted.
